Nolz1 increases RARβ expression and induces RA signaling. (A) RT-PCR analysis of RARα, RARβ and Raldh3 mRNA at 2 and 5 DIV after transfection of hNolz (hNolz over-expression) or Nolz1 siRNA. The results are expressed as the mean ± standard error of the mean from at least three independent samples for each condition, and normalized to the respective control transfection (DsREd or control siRNA), considered as 100% (dotted line). (B) RARE luciferase reporter assay demonstrates that Nolz1 over-expression increases RA signaling in primary striatal cultures.
